Music Street Jam | Randwick, Sydney – Sunday March 11th 6-8pm
For those of you that don’t know, I am the creator of a very special music project here in Sydney…it’s the reason I’m spending most of 2012 in Sydney rather than back in the states.
The music scene in Sydney has unfortunately been replaced by poker machines in venues over the past 15 years and the scene is virtually dead! This is heartbreaking given the exceptional talent in Australia. I felt that I had to do my bit to try stimulate a scene given what I’ve learnt from my travels about what cities around the world are doing. So I came up with the idea of bring music back to basics and making it accessible to EVERYONE. No stages, no mic’s, no ego’s….just music! Artists don’t have to go about the trouble of organising gigs and music lovers don’t have to pay to come see live music at their local cafe every second sunday! We’ve don it all for them. Same local cafe, same great food and coffee, same time every sunday evening from 6-8pm. Just in time for found kids to come watch real local talent before they head home and get ready for school the next day.
