My Darling Peanut Butter,
My love for you has endured so much over the years. You’ve watched as I became a vegetarian, you stood by me as I left sugar, you didn’t judge me when I insisted alcohol leave my life forever, and you encouraged me to be honest as I bled the pain of these trauma’s into my songs and my music career.
The real test however, the true moment when I knew we’d be together forever, was when I took the plunge to come out as a VEGAN. Your love was unwavering and your judgment non-existent. Throughout all the backlash I received as my food consciousness became more and more annoying to those around me…you never left my side. If anything, our love grew and you rewarded me with better and better versions of yourself.
Last night I did something I haven’t done in a while…I went and saw a live band. Yep, one with a badass singer, a lead guitarist, a bass player and a drummer. A band who sang their own songs and played their own instruments. And fuck it was great to watch!
The band was the Baby Animals and the venue, The Metro In Sydney, was packed to the rafters. I’ve been a fan of the Baby Animals since I was a kid. Not a hard core fan but enough of a fan to pretend I was Suze DeMarchi singing ‘One Word’ into my hair brush in front of my mirror as a kid. I’d watch their music video’s and imagine what is was like to be her, this woman with a incredibly strong, honest, raspy rock voice that oozed “cool”…all the while battling the other dogma driven arab guilt that scalded me in my head for wanting to sing in front of a crowd, love them and be loved by them.
I hope you’re well!
I’ve been watching your coffee run vids and getting a tonne of enjoyment out of them. Who knows why we humans exhibit such an insatiable thirst to watch other humans do everyday shit, but apparently of all the shit I could watch other people do on the internets, your coffee runs are what I choose to spend my limited free time watching. So keep ‘em coming if you don’t mind.

The other day, while standing on the side of the road looking down at my phone and waiting for a cab to quickly run me down to the beach for a meeting, I hear this conversation from a car in traffic in front of me: Dude 1: Oh man I’d […]
The last number of years my core quest has been to understand the idea of authentic happiness (vs face value happiness) and start experiencing it in my life. Here are some things I’ve learnt that I want to share with you today more than any other day (I have no idea […]
